Founders Jacqui and Zeke are joined by an experienced team of technologists, business executives, and clinical and research specialists who are committed to improving the lives of people with dementia and other conditions which make it difficult to communicate distress.
Zeke Steer
Dr Zeke Steer is co-founder and Chief Executive Officer at Milbotix and a Visiting Fellow at the Centre for Health & Clinical Research at the University of the West of England. He worked as a defence engineer for over 10 years developing expertise in electronics, software, and data science. Zeke’s doctoral research at the Bristol Robotics Laboratory (Bristol, UK) investigated how wearables, artificial intelligence, and robotics can support dementia carers to better manage distress and agitation.
Jacqui Arnold
Dr Iveta Eimontaite
Dr Iveta Eimontaite is Head of Research at Milbotix. Her research specialisms are in cognitive psychology and human factors, with expertise spanning neuroscience, emotion, and the physiology of stress. Iveta received her PhD in 2016, and she has since authored almost 30 academic peer-reviewed publications.
Prof Annie Brooking
Prabha Venkatesh
Prabha Venkatesh is a Data Scientist at Milbotix. She has an undergraduate degree in Electronics Engineering and worked as a Software Developer before completing her MSc in Data Science at Lancaster University. She’s excited to be using her skills in the med-tech domain.
Patrick Ogundele
Dr. Kumi Pillay
He has over 20 years of experience working with people living with dementia and other neuro degenerative conditions, and has specialist expertise in managing behavioural and psychological symptoms in dementia.
Kumi also brings to Milbotix his experience of developing health and social care environments designed to minimise distress, promote independence and reduce the use of restrictive practices. He is committed to reducing the prescription of psychotropic medication to people living with dementia and sees the implementation of innovative technology as playing an important role.
Ashley Goodridge
John Mathers
John has been working for over forty years in the brand and design industry, leading a number of marketing, brand and design consultancies in the UK and Internationally including WPP’s flagship brand consultancy, the Brand Union.
He led the UK Design Council through a period of change, moving on from that role in 2017 after five years as CEO.
In 2017 he co-founded The British Design Fund, a venture capital fund supporting well-designed British product start-ups. He has also worked with the UK government advising on how to integrate design into their Healthy Ageing Programme, part of the UK’s Industrial Strategy.
He was an Adjunct Professor with the Design & Innovation School of Tongji University in Shanghai and his other recent commitments have included sitting on the Board of Falmouth University, Chairing MOBIE, a home-making education charity and sitting on the Steering Group for the Creative Informatics Programme led by Edinburgh University.
He has a Law Degree and a MBA from Edinburgh University
Prageeth Krishnan
BIO PRAGEETH Prageeth Krishnan is an Engineering Lead at Milbotix.
He has an undergraduate degree in Electronics and Communication and a wealth of experience in embedded systems development across diverse cultures as in US, Japan, UK and India. He has been providing technical direction to impact driven start-ups for the past few years.
