Milbotix is delighted to announce that the SmartSocks® system has been granted a Dutch patent (NL2037018), further strengthening our intellectual property protection and supporting our mission to improve care for people with dementia, autism, and related conditions.

This milestone represents more than just another granted patent — it reflects a strategic step in our broader European expansion. The patent comes at an exciting time for Milbotix, as we prepare to begin our first international research project in the Netherlands this summer, highlighting the real-world impact and global potential of our wearable sensor technology.

Our patented sock-based wearable captures real-time data on heart rate, skin temperature, sweat (electrodermal activity), and movement in a comfortable, discreet form — ideal for continuous monitoring in clinical and research settings without the challenges of wrist-worn devices.

“We’re excited to see our innovative technology receive protection in the Netherlands. This Dutch patent underscores Milbotix’s commitment to expanding SmartSocks® into new research and care markets across Europe,” said Dr Zeke Steer, CEO & Founder.

This latest addition to our IP portfolio builds on existing patents in the UK and supports our focus on delivering meaningful health-tech solutions that empower caregivers, clinicians, and researchers.
