Milbotix is pleased to announce that SmartSocks®, our award-winning wearable technology, has been featured in the inaugural episode of Future Makers, a new video series from UK Research and Innovation (UKRI).

Can socks feel my pain?

Future Makers highlights researchers and innovators across the UK who are developing technologies that quietly but significantly shape everyday life. Milbotix is honoured that SmartSocks® and our mission to support the wellbeing and independence of people living with dementia were selected for the very first episode.

The episode follows Zoe Jackman from UKRI as she goes behind the scenes of SmartSocks®, meeting Dr Zeke Steer, Milbotix Founder and CEO. Together, they explore how SmartSocks® uses real-time physiological and movement data to provide insights into distress, mobility and wellbeing, and how this technology can support more proactive and personalised care.

The film also features a visit to the Bristol Robotics Laboratory, where Zoe explores additional assistive living technologies that are helping to reimagine care for an ageing population.

Milbotix would like to thank UKRI for recognising the importance of technologies that make care more human, more proactive, and more dignified.
